Pharaoh Coturnix quail

The Pharaoh Coturnix quail are mature after 6 weeks of age and are full grown at 10 weeks of age. Males have a reddish tint on the breast, while the hens have a grey-mottled breast. The Pharaoh Coturnix quail are very popular in Europe and Asia and are very hardy and do very well released in America.

We use the eggs for recipes, pickling and cocktails. We do process or sell roosters from time to time. We have bird sponsorships and coops available and some pretty helpful quail started packages available for those wanting your own meat or egg supply for your kitchen.

We feed a non-medicated game blend for layers and we treat with meal worms and sometimes wild bird seeds.

The birds are caged off the ground and the liner is changed as needed. We use cedar shaving currently but looking for other items from the property that could be used. We are currently using the shaving from the pin to fill driveway holes and let the chicken and pig root through it. We may soon filter it through water for an aqua garden, dry the chips and then use them for heat for canning and the still.
